“Prepare yourselves for this journey with the recitation of the Quran and contemplating it, especially Surahs Hajj and Ibrahim, and the verses of Hajj in the Surah Al-Baqarah,” said Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Abdol Fattah Navab, the Leader’s representative in Hajj and pilgrimage affairs.
He was addressing a gathering of Hajj pilgrims from Tehran Province, held on Thursday at the Azadi Sports Complex.
He emphasized the need to make the most of the golden opportunity of Hajj, both intellectually and spiritually.
Referring to the slogan of Hajj 2025, namely “Hajj, Quranic Conduct, Islamic Convergence and Support for Oppressed Palestine,” he said, “We hope that the oppressed and suffering people of Palestine will get the glorious flag of victory and that this year’s Hajj will convey the message of the Islamic Ummah's solidarity with the Palestinian nation to the world.”
Noting that one of the important aspects of the motto of this year’s Hajj is Quranic conduct, Hojat-ol-Islam Navab stressed that it is appropriate for pilgrims to prepare themselves intellectually and spiritually for the journey in advance by reciting and meditating on the Quran, especially Surahs Hajj and Ibrahim and the Hajj verses in the Surah Al-Baqarah.
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution stressed last year that the teachings of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) should be taken into account during the Hajj, he noted.
He also stressed the need to make the most of the opportunity of Hajj, saying the Holy Prophet (PBUH) said that Allah gives humans opportunities during their lifetime and they should make the best use of them.
“If we don’t take advantage of these opportunities, we will regret it when we get back. Imam Ali (AS) said that opportunities are quickly lost and hard to gain.”
Hojat-ol-Islam Navab further emphasized the need to maintain physical health and adhere to hygiene tips in the specific climatic conditions of Saudi Arabia during Hajj, saying that taking care of the health of the body and physical preparation is one of the main conditions to benefit from the blessings of this spiritual journey.
