A gathering of qaris and Quran memorizers from 18 countries was held in Karbala, Iraq, in April 2025.

 

The Quran and Hadith Sciences Center, affiliated to the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Hussein (AS) holy shrine, organized the convention with the aim of enhancing Quranic interactions and boosting scholarly and spiritual ties.

The Quran activists were from countries like Senegal, Indonesia, Ivory Coast, Comoros Islands, Pakistan, Afghanistan, India, Tajikistan, Nigeria, Tanzania and Trinidad and Tobago.

Sheikh Ali Marza, head of the center, said, “We are happy to have this Quranic group among us, and we are committed to continue to support and honor them in their service to the Book of God, because connecting Muslim hearts with the light of the Quran is the supreme goal that we strive to achieve through global partnership.”

He noted that during the convention, the center appreciated the achievements and efforts of the Quran reciters and memorizers.

The Quranic gathering was held in line with the center’s annual series of activities aimed at institutionalizing the culture of the Quran, celebrating Quranic talents in different countries and highlighting the role of the Astan in supporting scholarly and religious activities, he said.

Sheikh Ali Marza went on to say that the center will continue holding such international programs, considering its impact on strengthening the bonds of Quranic brotherhood between nations and promoting the spirit of scholarly and spiritual cooperation.
