Perak’s Aiman Ridhwan Mohamad Ramlan and Terengganu’s Wan Sofea Aini Wan Mohd Zahidi emerged champions of the National Quran Recitation Competition 1446H/2025.
The two winners are poised to replicate the success on the international stage, Hamidi stated.
Expressing confidence in their potential, Hamidi said that with continuous guidance, prayers, and dedication, these exceptional Quran reciters could bring pride to the nation globally.
"God willing, both will shoulder the great responsibility of representing Malaysia on the international stage.
“Malaysia has achieved remarkable success in international Quran recitation and memorization competitions before. God willing, we can repeat that success," he said in a Facebook post Saturday.
Aiman Ridhwan and Wan Sofea Aini were crowned champions at the National Quran Recitation and Memorisation Assembly (MTQHK) 1446H/2025, which concluded Friday in Kangar, Perlis.
They each took home RM20,000 in cash and an additional RM10,000 to perform the hajj, along with a trophy, souvenirs, and a certificate of participation. They also received a gold dinar from the Islamic Economic Development Foundation of Malaysia (YAPEIM) and a smartphone.
