IQNA – A funeral was held in the Gaza Strip for Palestinian journalist Hassan Al-Aslih, who was martyred in an Israeli airstrike on Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis.

Palestinian journalist Hassan Al-Aslih (Right) was martyred in an Israeli airstrike on Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis on May 13, 2025.

The prominent journalist was undergoing treatment at the hospital after being wounded in an earlier bombing carried out by the Israeli regime.

According to reports, al-Aslih succumbed to his injuries in the hospital’s burn unit on Tuesday morning.

Al-Aslih was among several journalists injured during the April 7 Israeli bombing of a tent housing displaced civilians and reporters in Khan Younis.

Two journalists were killed in that attack, and at least ten others were wounded.

Al-Aslih’s death raised the number of journalists killed in Gaza since the Israeli genocidal war began in October 2023 to 215.

The government media office in Gaza in a statement offered condolences over the martyrdom of the journalist.
