The theme of this year’s exhibition is the steadfastness and perseverance of Hazrat Zeynab (SA), a woman who narrates the Ashura movement and is a symbol of patience, courage, and insight, according to the Iranian Cultural Center in Tanzania.
The expo includes various sections designed with a combination of performing arts and visual effects, including scenes from the ordeal of the great lady in Karbala and afterwards, reconstructions of the events of Karbala, Yazid’s court, and the Damascus bazaar, as well as a space for spiritual contemplation and reflection.
At the end of the exhibition route, beautiful and artistic replicas of the shrine of Hazrat Zeynab (SA), Bain-ul-Haramain (the area between the holy shrines of Imam Hussein (AS) and Hazrat Abbas (AS) in Karbala), and the mausoleum of Imam Hussein (AS) are on display.

Mohsen Maarefi, the Cultural Attaché of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Tanzania, described the exhibition as an artistic, committed, and very impressive endeavor after visiting it.
He praised the beautiful design of the exhibition and the intelligent choice of the theme of the expo and said, “In today’s world, where media and narratives play a key role in shaping public opinion, we need to follow the example of Hazrat Zaynab (SA) more than ever; a woman who, with her narrative power, conveyed the message of Ashura to the ears of the world and did not allow the liars in power to distort the truth and achieve their evil goals.”
The exhibition was launched on Thursday and will conclude today, July 21, 2025.
