It has been organized on the occasion of Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) birthday, according to Arabi21.

The ministry said the purpose of holding this award, called the ‘Algerian Award for the Prophet’s Seerah’, is to consolidate the spiritual and human values derived from the Prophet’s (PBUH) life and to encourage scientific research and intellectual creativity in the service of the life of the last messenger of God.

In a statement, the ministry said this award reflects the commitment of the Algerian government to elevate the status of Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) Seerah and increase its scientific and cultural influence.

It thus contributes to consolidating the moral and human values embodied by the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and to disseminating and spreading them among generations so that they can serve as a guide in facing contemporary challenges, the statement said.

“The inclusion of such initiatives in the national agenda reflects the Algerian government’s firm belief in the importance of religion as a fundamental lever for consolidating national security. This is achieved by strengthening religious identity and national unity and countering extremist movements with a moderate discourse inspired by the life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).”

This award was first held after the inauguration of the Grand Mosque of Algiers, which is considered one of the most important religious and cultural monuments in the North African country and the Islamic world.
