MMCC Bonnyrigg Mosque in Scotland

MMCC Bonnyrigg Mosque will welcome the public on Saturday, September 13, as part of Scotland’s national Doors Open Days festival.

The Mosque, located at 12 Lothian Street, Bonnyrigg, occupies the former Carnegie Library building, a much-loved landmark with over a century of history. Built in 1908 with funding from philanthropist Andrew Carnegie, the building has long been part of the town’s story and now continues to serve the community in a new way.

Visitors will have the chance to:

– Explore the historic building and learn about its unique design and heritage.

– Share stories and memories of the former Carnegie Library.

– Enjoy new exhibitions and presentations created especially for this year (perfect even for those who attended last year).

– Meet members of the local Muslim community and discover more about the Islamic faith.

– Free refreshments, including tea, coffee, and treats, will be available throughout the day.

The event is family-friendly, fully wheelchair accessible, and open to all.

Whether you’re interested in architecture, heritage, or simply curious to learn more about your local community, we’d love to see you.”

Taking place between 11am and 4pm on Saturday, no booking is required and visitors are welcome to drop in anytime during the day.
