IQNA – The head of the Intifada and Quds Day Headquarters described the Al-Aqsa Flood Operation as a valuable asset for the Palestinian nation, adding that it solidified the path of resistance.

Head of the Intifada and Quds Day Headquarters Brigadier General Ramezan Sharif

Speaking in a meeting of the headquarters in Tehran on Sunday, Brigadier General Ramezan Sharif said, “We are close to the second anniversary of this operation, and there are diverse views on the essence of the operation, its achievements, and its consequences. The media, each in accordance with its own policies and owners, tried to analyze this operation; some considered it with prior knowledge of Israel, while others considered it a surprise for the Zionists. Each also has its own arguments.

“But what is certain is that this operation once again brought the issue of Palestine back to the center of world public opinion; an issue that the Zionists had always sought to forget and tried to say that there is no such thing as the Palestinian nation and the freedom of al-Quds.”

He said that for decades, the Zionists had been presenting themselves as invincible, claiming that even Arab armies, if united, would not be able to defeat Israel, but the Al-Aqsa Flood Operation showed that the Zionists were not what they pretended to be and that they were defeatable.

“This operation was the end of their propaganda, and the whole world realized, as Sayed Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of the Lebanese resistance, rightly said, that Israel was nothing but a ‘spider’s house’.”

He added that over the past 80 years, the Zionists have always tried to wipe out the flow of resistance and popular struggle by killing Palestinians, destroying their homes and farms, and continuously suppressing them. “However, the Al-Aqsa Flood Operation showed that new generations of Palestinians have a serious will to reclaim their land, even if the number of martyrs has reached 65,000.”

In these two years, the people of Gaza have proven their commitment to the Palestinian cause despite the terrible bombings, famine, hunger, sanctions and the closure of borders, he noted

Sharif emphasized that the important point is that the Zionists, despite all the unprecedented pressure, have not been able to present an image that the people of Gaza have taken any action against the resistance movement. “The whole world is witnessing that the Palestinian people are still standing firm in the resistance under the heaviest pressures.”

Referring to the military dimension of the operation, he said that over the past two years, the Zionist regime has tried with all its military might to prevent the operations of the resistance forces, but in recent days, while they were talking about “destroying Hamas”, several successful operations were carried out by the Palestinian forces. “This has made the Zionists not dare to reoccupy Gaza, because they know that they will face heavy casualties.”

He further described the Al-Aqsa Flood Operation as a valuable asset for the Palestinian nation and emphasized, “This operation had major consequences and achievements, including increasing global hatred for the Zionists and the formation of a wave of popular support across the world. Today, even people who had no direct connection to the Palestinian issue are raising cries of support for the Palestinian people in their field and social media presences, and this is one of the important results of the Al-Aqsa Storm Operation.”

Sharif pointed to the illegal and criminal behavior of the Zionist regime over the past two years and said the ooperation caused this regime to lose its behavioral and psychological balance.

“During this time, the various crimes committed by the Zionists showed that they observe no laws, even in war conditions. They bombed hospitals, kept women and children in hunger and under siege, destroyed thousands of schools, and massacred defenseless people in aid lines or in their homes.”

He added that today, no one in the world tolerates the behavior of the Zionists.

“The latest example was the failed assassination of Hamas leaders; while they themselves had been called for negotiations and to end the war. This ugly behavior, in full view of the world, even convinced former supporters of the Zionists that the Israeli regime is weaker than it appears.”

Sharif went on to say that the Al-Aqsa Flood Operation, in fact, solidified the religion and the path of resistance of the Palestinian people.

“The Palestinian nation, with the serious support of the resistance front and the valuable backing of the people of Yemen—who astonished the world with their million-strong demonstrations—still stands firm. This is while the Zionists, at the peak of their weakness and on the verge of collapse, still speak of ‘from the Nile to the Euphrates’ and territorial expansion. Even (US President Donald) Trump has admitted that the small size of Israel’s (occupied) territory is their vulnerability, and the Zionists themselves have officially announced that they seek to capture parts of Syria, Jordan, Egypt, and other areas.”

He further highlighted the Islamic Republic of Iran’s support for Palestine, saying, “Since the beginning of the Islamic Revolution, support for the Palestinian cause has been on the agenda of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the second largest nationwide demonstration after the revolution has always been the International Quds Day march. Today, the whole world has come to understand the foresight of Imam Khomeini (RA) and the leader of the Islamic Revolution. If the situation was not this clear at the beginning of the revolution, the legitimacy of this strategy has become more evident than ever today.”

He added, “We hope the wave of global support for Palestine and the resistance reaches a stage where the rulers of Arab and Islamic countries also join it, and God willing, we will witness the collapse of the Zionist regime. The Palestinian nation, after enduring many costs and sacrifices, deserves to form an independent government in their homeland.”

The Al-Aqsa Flood Operation was a surprise operation that saw Hamas and its fellow Gaza Strip-based Palestinian resistance movement of the Islamic Jihad storming the occupied Palestinian territories and taking more than 240 Israelis captive on October 7, 2023.

The Israeli regime brought Gaza under a genocidal war in response. The war has so far claimed the lives of nearly 65,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children. However, the regime has not been able to realize its objectives through force.
