IQNA – The dependence of Arab governments on the US prevents practical action against the Zionist regime, an Iranian official said.

Seyed Mojtaba Abtahi, the secretary general of the parliament’s International Conference in Support of the Palestinian Intifada

Seyed Mojtaba Abtahi, the secretary general of the parliament’s International Conference in Support of the Palestinian Intifada, referring to the structural dependence of Arab governments on the United States, said, “These countries do not have the necessary capacity and will to practically confront the crimes of the Zionist regime, and their minimal reactions will only lead to Israel becoming bolder.”

He made the remarks in reaction to an emergency summit of Arab and Islamic leaders held in Doha earlier this week, whose final statement, contrary to expectations, lacked any implementation guarantees. The statement even refrained from taking practical action, such as cutting off or reducing relations with the Israeli regime, by countries that have relations with the regime.

“It was expected that this meeting would lead to practical and serious actions and not be limited to a political statement,” Abtahi told IQNA.

He stated that although the recent acts of aggression by the Zionist regime have awakened and raised awareness among nations, the dependence of regional governments prevents them from taking effective action.

“Unfortunately, many of these (governments) have been formed and become dependent on Western security services, especially the United States, in recent years; therefore, it is unlikely that we will witness any significant action from them in the current circumstances.”

Criticizing the minimal response of some Islamic governments to Israel’s crimes, he said that in these circumstances, these governments are not even willing to temporarily expel the Israeli ambassador for a week.

The highest level of action in the United Arab Emirates was to summon the Israeli ambassador and simply say, ‘Don’t do this again!’, he said, adding that such actions not only do not deter, but also make the Israeli regime bolder and more aggressive.

“Until there is a fundamental change in the behavior of Arab and Islamic governments, we should not expect serious reactions. Although we hope that such an event will occur, it is completely unlikely under the current circumstances.”

Regarding the Islamic Republic of Iran’s diplomatic exploitation of the opportunity of the Zionist regime’s attack on Qatar to advance anti-Zionist goals and bring Arab and Islamic countries along on this path, he said Iran seeks to ensure that the message of resistance is heard by all nations and awakened and aware consciences of the world.

Abtahi considered the role of the media and cultural institutions to be very important in this regard and said now is the right time for our propaganda and cultural organizations and apparatuses, especially the overseas media of Iran, to actively enter the field.

He further pointed to the Zionist regime’s hidden goals in developing criminal acts in the region and stated, “Whenever Netanyahu faces political and social crises inside the occupied territories, he tries to divert domestic public opinion by spreading the crisis abroad. This is exactly the strategy of the arrogant regime for its survival, which is to maintain instability in the region by continuing the war.”
