Qom Holy Shrine to Host Ceremony Marking Anniversary of Hezbollah Leaders’ Martyrdom

IQNA – A special ceremony commemorating the anniversary of the martyrdom of the leaders of Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement will be held at the holy shrine of Hazrat Masoumeh (SA) in Qom this week.  

Former Hezbollah secretary general Sayed Hassan Nasrallah was martyred on September 27, 2024 in an Israeli air strike in a southern suburb of Beirut that used American-made bunker buster bombs.

Sayed Hashem Safieddine, who led Hezbollah for one week after Nasrallah’s martyrdom, was also martyred along with a number of his companions in an Israeli attack on the southern suburbs of Beirut on October 3, 2024.

The commemoration ceremony for the martyrs will take place at the Qom holy shrine’s Imam Khomeini's (RA) Shabestan on Wednesday, after Maghrib and Isha prayers.

Senior seminary scholars, academic figures, international dignitaries, the families of the martyrs, and various groups of people are expected to attend the event.

The office of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Qom, Custodianship of the holy shrine of Hazrat Masoumeh (SA), World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, Al-Mustafa International University, the Islamic Propagation Office of the Qom Seminary, the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, the Al-Bayt Institute, the Al-Bayt Al-Alamiyah Society, and Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) World Assembly are among the institutions contributing to the organization of this ceremony.
