In the official decree, Minister Osama al-Azhari recognized Nuaina’s more than half a century of service to the Quran.
Al-Azhari praised Sheikh Nuaina’s lifelong dedication to Quran recitation and instruction, describing him as an exemplar of mastery, humility and decorum who has inspired generations of reciters in Egypt and throughout the Muslim world.
In response, Nuaina expressed his gratitude for the appointment and prayed for success and sincerity in fulfilling the responsibilities of this prominent role.

The minister also announced the reconstitution of the Supreme Council for Recitation within the ministry as part of efforts to develop Quranic initiatives and better organize Egypt’s recitation centers.

Ahmed Nuaina was born in 1954 in Matubas, Kafr al-Sheikh. He completed memorization of the entire Quran by the age of eight and later pursued medical studies at Alexandria University, serving in hospitals there.
