The competition took place in the category of memorization of the entire Quran.
Winners were named and awarded at the closing ceremony on Thursday.
The panel of judges named the contestant from Saudi Arabia as the top winner.
The memorizer from Tajikistan finished runner up and the representative of the host country came third.
Those from Russia and Egypt won the fourth and fifth ranks, respectively.
Iran’s representative Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Ali Hosseini was not among the top winners.
Organized by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs of Saudi Arabia in cooperation with the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan, the event brought together 22 participants from 21 countries, including Iran, Saudi Arabia, Kazakhstan, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Palestine, Morocco, Algeria, Jordan, Turkey, Malaysia, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, the Republic of Azerbaijan, Indonesia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Russia.
