
The event has been organised by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance.
The ministry announced that the preliminary rounds began on October 10 and involved participants from seven provinces and two cities.
A total of 300 contestants entered the initial stage, and 54 advanced to the finals. The competition will conclude with an awards ceremony on Wednesday, October 29, attended by officials and scholarly figures, according to Saudi Press Agency.
According to the ministry, the contest aims to encourage greater engagement with Quranic recitation and memorisation across the country. It follows earlier editions of similar events.

In the previous national-level contest, held in December 2023, more than 50 participants competed and the finals took place at the Imam Al‑Sarakhsi Mosque.
In the 2024 edition for girls, organised in cooperation with Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, 270 contestants began in the preliminary rounds and 26 qualified for the final phase.
