West’s Oppression of Women More Severe than in Middle Ages: ICRO Chief

IQNA – The oppression of women by the West is worse than in the Middle Ages, the head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) said.

Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Mehdi Imanipour wrote in a message on X, “The result of the divergence and deliberate deviation of the political, social and security policy-making apparatuses of the West towards women has been the collapse of the family institution in the US and in European countries.”

He added, “The thirst of Western societies for the revival of the family institution and the primacy of the status of women is a product of this process.

He deplored the fact that “the oppression that the modern West has committed against women and their individual and social status is even more severe than in the Middle Ages.”

In a recent speech, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said Islam grants women a very high and exalted status and equal rights with men in social and political life, condemning the “corrupt Western culture” toward women.

“The corrupt Western and capitalist culture is completely rejected from the perspective of Islam,” the Leader said.
