The systematic destruction of more than 1,100 mosques during the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip has not dampened the spirit of the people in Gaza and they have not lost their enthusiasm for learning the Quran.
The Aisha Quranic Center in Gaza City has resumed its activities and is holding Quran memorization classes and training courses for male and female students, according to Al Jazeera.
One of the center’s employees said that despite the bombing and martyrdom of Gaza residents, they have remained steadfast and have not left northern Gaza.
She emphasized the continuation of their work for the sake of the students and to please God, despite the limited space and lack of Qurans and facilities due to the Israeli regime preventing the entry of necessary equipment into the area during the Gaza war.
The Quran teacher added, “We hope someone will help us financially and God willing, it will be a reward for both of us.”
The Quran activist emphasized that despite the danger of shelling in the streets, she comes from the Sheikh Ajlain area and that her fear has not stopped her from encouraging students to memorize the Quran.
“God is our protector and He is with us,” she stated.
Sundus al-Khouli, a Palestinian Quran memorizer, referred to the disruption in education and the destruction of mosques and schools during the war and explained that the center held small Quran circles to compensate for the lack of mosques and schools.

The student said that despite the small size of the center and limited resources, it has managed to graduate a number of female memorizers within a year and a half.
She stated that she faced the sound of shelling and destruction in the Gaza Strip and that the center was sometimes closed, but she started memorizing since childhood and managed to memorize the entire Quran.
She called on Muslims around the world to adhere to the Quran and prayer, emphasizing that victory comes from God and religion is what remains in life.
