The seventh Imam (AS) had purchased a burial site in the Maghabir Quraysh, where he was laid to rest after martyrdom. Under the guidance of Imam Jawad (AS) and the orders of Ma’mun, a shrine was constructed over his noble grave. Several years later, when Imam Jawad (AS) was also martyred in the year 220 AH, he was buried alongside his grandfather. The site of the two holy shrines were then named Kadhimiya.
