Lebanon to Host ‘Al-Sadiq Al-Amin’ Int’l Quran Contest

IQNA – An international Quran memorization and recitation competition entitled “Al-Sadiq Al-Amin” is planned to be held in Beirut ahead of the holy month of Ramadan.

An international Quran memorization and recitation competition entitled “Al-Sadiq Al-Amin” is planned to be held in Beirut ahead of the holy month of Ramadan.

 

The Cultural Center of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Lebanon will organize the contest in cooperation with the Holy Quran Society of Lebanon.

The participants, men aged 18 to 40, will compete in two categories: memorization of the entire Quran and recitation.

This competition will be held in two virtual (preliminary) and in-person (semi-final and final) stages.

Registration for those interested began on January 23 and will continue until February 2.

Those who score the highest points in the preliminary round will be allowed to participate in the semi-final stage in person.

The participant must be skilled in reciting the Holy Quran with the correct rules and intonation.

The judging criteria in the recitation category include observing the rules of Tajweed (40 points), Sawt (15 points), Waqf and Ibtida (20 points), and tone (25 points).

In memorization, the judging criteria are quality of memorization (70 points) and quality of recitation (30 points).
