Iran’s Representatives Win Top Ranks of Lebanon Int’l Quran Contest

IQNA – Contestants from Iran won the first and second ranks in the “Al-Sadiq Al-Amin” international Holy Quran competition in Lebanon.

The “Al-Sadiq Al-Amin” international Holy Quran competition was held in Lebanon in February 2026.

 

Mohammad Reza Jafarpour bagged the top prize in the category of memorization of the entire Quran and Mehdi Rashtbari finished runner-up in the category of recitation.

The final stage of the international Quranic event was held in person in Beirut on February 13 and 14.

The preliminary round had taken place virtually earlier.

The contest was organized by the Cultural Center of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Lebanon in cooperation with the Lebanese Holy Quran Society.

Members of the panel of judges included Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Haji Abolqasem and Ali Mehrabi from Iran, Adel Khalil, Sheikh Mohammad Al-Saleh and Haitham Ayyash from Lebanon, Sheikh Khairuddin Al-Hadi from Iraq, Kamal Qada from Algeria and Sheikh Abdel Nasser Harak from Egypt.

The judging criteria in the recitation category include observing the rules of Tajweed (40 points), Sawt (15 points), Waqf and Ibtida (20 points), and tone (25 points).
