Lebanon’s Quran Contest for Students Slated for March 19

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The 12th edition of a Quran competition for students in Lebanon will be held in the capital Beirut on March 19.

Martyr Sayed Abbas Mousawi Quran Award

  

Named Martyr Sayed Abbas Mousawi Award, it is annually organized by the Tawjih and Irshad Quranic Institute.

The institute has invited all interested university and school students to participate in the Quranic event.

The deadline for registration is Friday, March 10, according to the organizers.

Memorization of the entire Quran, and memorization of twenty, ten and five Juzes (parts) of the Quran along with observation of the Tajweed rules are the categories of the competition.

Students from different parts of Lebanon are expected to take part in the Quranic event at the headquarters of the institute in Beirut’s southern suburbs.

Winners will be awarded cash prizes as well as certificates and copies of the Quran signed by Hezbollah Secretary General Sayed Hassan Nasrallah.

Sayed Abbas Mousawi was a founder of Hezbollah and its former secretary general. He was martyred in a Zionist regime missile attack in February 1992.
