The Chularajamontri called on the faithful to use the holy month of Ramadan as a period for profound self-reflection, charity, and the strengthening of ties within the country’s multicultural fabric.

In an official communiqué released on February 19, 2026, to mark the start of Hijri Era 1447, Arun Boonchom emphasized that the act of fasting is more than a religious obligation; it is a vital lesson in empathy.

"Fasting serves as a tool to test the faithful," the Chularajamontri stated. "By abstaining from food, one tastes hunger and thirst to foster a conscience of giving. It is a bridge of friendship that alleviates suffering and reduces the gap of social inequality."

The message detailed the essential pillars of the month, including the Taraweeh prayers, the completion of the Holy Quran, and the payment of Zakat (almsgiving). Boonchom noted that these acts of devotion are intended to purify the heart and provide sustenance to the destitute.

Beyond the religious observances, the leader’s address carried a strong civic theme. He offered prayers for the protection of Thailand from natural disasters and called for "steadfast virtue" among all citizens, regardless of faith.

Concluding his address, the Chularajamontri prayed for national unity and health, urging the public to coexist peacefully under the patronage of His Majesty the King. He framed the spiritual season as a catalyst for "stability and progress" for the nation at large.
