IQNA – A mass funeral procession was held in the Iranian capital on Wednesday for the martyrs of the ongoing war, including senior commanders martyred on the first day of the war.

A mass funeral procession was held in the Iranian capital on March 11, 2026, for the martyrs of the ongoing war, including senior commanders martyred on the first day of the war.

 

A large number of people from different walks of life took part in the procession, which began in Enghelab (Revolution) Square in the center of the capital.

Also present were senior political, military and other officials of the country.

They had come to bid farewell to commanders who had sacrificed their lives for the security of the homeland.

They included Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRCG) Major General Mohammad Pakpour, Secretary of Iran’s Defense Council Ali Shamkhani, and Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh, who were martyred in the US-Israeli aggression on February 28.
