
The contest, which was for the academic year 2025-2026, was launched on Thursday.
This two-day event was a collaboration involving the Arabic Language and Quranic Sciences Department at Traghen College of Education. It also includes local Endowments Offices.
Fifteen male and female contestants were divided into three categories: memorizing the entire Holy Quran, memorizing the last half, and memorizing the last quarter of the Holy Quran.
The judging panel consisted of six imams and sheikhs. Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ahirash presided over the committee. They evaluated participants. Strict criteria ensure fairness and transparency.
Winners received cash prizes. The first-place winner received 4,000 dinars. The second-place winner got 2,000 dinars and the third-place winner received 1,000 dinars.

The competition aims to promote memorization of the Holy Quran among university students. It also encourages correct recitation and develops the students’ religious and cultural awareness.
