IQNA – A Lebanese university professor said that by targeting children, the enemies of Islam seek the collapse of Islamic societies.

Lebanese university professor Zohre Abdel Nabi Badreddine

Addressing the second “Muslim Women” international webinar, Zohre Abdel Nabi Badreddine highlighted the position of children in Islamic teachings, stressing the need for families to pay attention to the Islamic upbringing of children.

The World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought organized the international webinar on Sunday morning under the title “Where is the international law against the Zionist-American attack on civilians?”

Referring to the martyrdom of scores of school children in the US-Israeli strike on a primary school in Iran’s southern city of Minab, Badreddine said, “The inhuman and heinous crime that occurred in this school shows a lack of respect for children’s rights, while Islam, the Quran, and traditions have emphasized this issue.”

She said that according to Hadiths, respect for children in families has been emphasized.

“This respect is achieved through expressing love, kissing the child, and constantly paying attention to his needs.”

She added that in the principles of education and morality, Islam places special emphasis on observing chastity and modesty in children so that the child grows up healthily and their personality is formed correctly.

Parents are responsible for the physical, spiritual, intellectual, and religious upbringing of their children, she noted. “In Hadiths, it is stated that anyone who has a son should treat him like a boy; that is, parents should try to reach the level of understanding of the child in order to understand his needs, teach him etiquette, and introduce him to the worship of God.”

She emphasized that loving a child is a moral value, and parental love from childhood helps a child enter society in a suitable environment and with correct beliefs.

Badreddine, who has a PhD in psychology, added that raising a child based on Islamic education paves the way for a person with good morals to enter society.

Referring to the Minab crime, she said 168 girls, boys and teachers were martyred in this crime. “These children were raised in the lap of parents who had sown the seeds of Islamic values and good morals in their children’s hearts so that in the future they would become people with high beliefs and contribute to society.”

She said the attack on the primary school represents the failure of Western civilization, which lacks the belief in monotheism and relies only on materialism. “The futility of this thinking has become clear today, and its failure has been proven by jurists and legal institutions.”

She emphasized, “This incident reminds us of the importance of returning to the monotheistic perspective; a perspective that has only been realized in Islam and has protected the rights of the child.”

Another speaker at the webinar was Tunisian teacher and researcher Zahabiya al-Fahim, who stated in her speech, “Since the Islamic Republic and our brotherly country was attacked, every time I pick up my pen, book, and bag and go to work, I feel such great pain and anxiety that tears are about to choke me and squeeze my throat.”

She added, “The images of female students, schools, universities, books soaked in blood, bodies of martyrs, graves prepared for students, and grieving mothers disturb me.”

She said, “My students ask me where are human rights? Where is the international community and international laws? Where are the human rights institutions and organizations? We take our complaint only to God. I am certain that victory is with the believers and God is the helper of the patient and those who resist.”

Nusrat Zahra Jafari, director of Al-Zahra Seminary, Islamabad, Pakistan, also delivered a speech.

Offering condolences to the people of Iran on the martyrdom of the Leader and many people, she said, “We, the people of Pakistan, upon hearing the news of their martyrdom, uttered the words of Hazrat Zainab (SA): O Allah, accept this sacrifice from us. It is true that our hearts are very sad, but our martyrs are in the highest degree of divine closeness.”

She added, “It is now our duty to introduce their thoughts and character to the world.”

People should know that their martyrdom created a great awakening in the world and enlightened hearts, she stated.

“In the meantime, the criminal enemy should know that the will of the believing Iranian nation will never be destroyed by ugly acts and cowardly assassinations. Because they are followers of the school of Imam Hussein (AS), a school that is alive with blood and becomes stronger with martyrdom.”
