Al-Afasi’s Stance Reveals His True Ideological, Intellectual Scope: Iraqi Qari
In an interview with IQNA, Master Ali Al-Khafaji emphasized that the recent positions of al-Afasi in support of the American-Zionist aggression against Iran indicate his departure from the path of faith.
“These positions reveal the intellectual breadth of this Kuwaiti reciter and his misleading ideology primarily harms himself.”
He considered the Kuwaiti qari’s insulting action an unjust slogan against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
“Unfortunately, we heard this unjust slogan against the Islamic Iran at a time when Iran is confronting the most oppressive powers on earth, namely the United States and the Zionist regime.”
Al-Khafaji added that with this slogan, al-Afasi's recitation has become a platform for Trump and Netanyahu against Islamic Iran and a nation that is distinguished by humanity, religion and morality.
He noted that even in its war with the enemy, Iran displayed the morality and character of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS).
Regarding the impact of al-Afasi’s ideas and beliefs on public opinion in the Islamic world, al-Khafaji said many users and cyberspace activists in several Arab countries condemn, denounce and ridicule this position, because they believe that this forbidden act is a deviation from the path of faith.
Unfortunately, al-Afasi has adopted a misleading ideology and will bear the consequences of his sins; therefore, with this work he has presented, he has harmed himself before harming the Islamic Republic of Iran, and this is clearly visible, he stated.
Al-Khafaji emphasized the need to take a clear stance on what has happened, and the importance of ending with goodness and steadfastness in ideological principles.
He also referred to the fate of Ibn Muljam, explaining that he was also a good reciter of the Quran, and argued that a beautiful voice is not enough without firm faith and true belief.

Quranic activists should condemn and denounce al-Afasi’s stances, as they are a clear deviation and an insult to himself, before insulting the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Iraqi qari said.
Regarding the demands to remove al-Afasi’s recitations and ban listening to his recitations, Aa-Khafaji announced his support for such a move and asked those who follow him to reconsider their support for him, explaining that the audience may be emotionally affected by the beautiful voice of a reciter and give him a high position, while his behavior may not be consistent with the approach of the Quran.
