Egypt Awaqf Ministry Emphasizes Support for Quran Memorization Centers
The ministry announced the names of the winners of a special competition for Quran learners at Quran memorization centers, El-Balad reported.
It was the fourth major Quran competition held among Quran learners of Quran memorization centers at the headquarters of the country’s International Academy of Awqaf.
The competition took place from April 21 to 23, 2026, with the finals seeing high-level competition among participants in memorization, recitation, and Tajweed of the Quran.
The Awqaf ministry said that at the end of this competition, participants who had significant skills in memorization and good performance emerged victorious, which reflects the pivotal role of Quran memorization centers in society.
The ministry stressed that these centers effectively play a role in graduating qualified Quranic activists in terms of science and preaching, and are capable of spreading the guidance of the Quran throughout society and cultivating national personalities.
The competition is part of the ministry’s plan to support Quran activists, spread the religion correctly, and encourage young people and adolescents to turn to the Book of God and understand and reflect on its teachings.

The ministry explained that the awards given to the winners are an act of appreciation for them and an incentive to continue excelling in serving the Holy Quran and adhering to high religious values.
The ministry also announced its full support for the Quran memorization centers and the development of their scientific and educational programs with the aim of cultivating a generation of Quran servants throughout Egyptian society.
