IQNA – During the recent US-Israeli aggression on Iran, known as the Ramadan War, 203 women and 92 children under 10 years of age were martyred in Tehran, an official said.

Maryam Ardebili, head of the Women and Family Center of Tehran Municipality

Maryam Ardebili, head of the Women and Family Center of Tehran Municipality, made the remark in a press conference in Tehran on Tuesday, referring to the impact of the American-Zionist aggression on Iranian women, children and families.

In response to a question about the impact of the US-Israeli aggression on the educational future of Iranian girls and the damage to schools, she said more than 51,000 residential homes have been partially or completely destroyed in the city of Tehran.

“In the educational sector, 360 educational properties have also been damaged, of which 240 were directly used by students. Also, unfortunately, 15 of our teachers and cultural staff in Tehran were martyred.”

Referring to the extensive destruction of service and welfare infrastructure, the official said the municipal building of one of Tehran's 22 districts has been completely razed to the ground, several municipal services and waste departments have also been destroyed, and a large number of service centers and several public stadiums in the city have also suffered serious damage or have been completely destroyed.

Elsewhere in her remarks, she emphasized that such crimes will not undermine the Iranian nation’s resolve.

Every Muslim is raised from birth with the stories of the lives of prophets and religious saints, especially Imam Hussein (AS) as the greatest symbol of confronting arrogance, she noted.

“The spirit of confronting the hegemony of power and wealth to the death has been institutionalized in the genome of the Iranian nation, Muslims, and all freedom-seekers in the world,” she stated.

Today, the purported image of invincibility of powers that were thought to be able to destroy civilizations and nations with the push of a button has collapsed before the eyes of the world, and no one anymore believes that the decisions of superpowers in a corner of the world can destroy a genuine nation, she went on to say.
