Speaking to IQNA, Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Ali Ayazi considered these actions to be war crimes and indicative of the aggressors' despicable behavior.
He also criticized the international community for remaining silent on these crimes.
Ayazi especially slammed the inaction of organizations such as UNESCO and called on independent seminary and university elites to break the silence and actively protest in international forums.
“According to all international laws, such actions are undoubtedly considered war crimes and are condemned in every way by international forums.”
He added that the enemies even target urban bridges for no reason and they are simply property belonging to a nation, but these aggressors are looking for excuses to justify their wrong actions.
These actions are nothing other than meanness and extreme hostility to the Iranian nation and are completely illegal, he emphasized.
Regarding the lack of appropriate response from some international organizations, especially UNESCO, Ayazi said, “These types of organizations have a number of justifications for themselves; including the fact that some of the financial assistance to these organizations comes from some powers, including the United States, and they make reservations so that this assistance is not cut off.”
