Support for Palestine at Turkish League Championship Celebration

IQNA – French player Sacha Bouy drew attention at his team Galatasaray's Turkish League Championship celebration when he attended the trophy presentation ceremony with a Palestinian flag.

According to Arabi 21, his fans shared photos and videos of the 24-year-old French player on social media while carrying the Palestinian flag on the pitch.

Bouy has been one of Galatasaray's most prominent players in recent years, playing as a right-back. He previously played for Bayern Munich.

His expression of support for Palestine came a few days after a similar move by young Spanish national team star Lamine Yamal, who also carried the Palestinian flag on his shoulders at Barcelona's Spanish League Championship celebration.

Yamal faced widespread criticism from the Israeli media and officials following this action, but at the same time received much praise from the media and the Spanish prime minister, who strongly defended the young player's position.

This was not the first time the Palestinian flag had appeared at Galatasaray celebrations.

Moroccan star Hakim Ziyech covered himself with the Palestinian flag two years ago during the team's Turkish league championship celebration, amid the Israeli regime’s genocidal war against the Gaza Strip.
