Pakistan’s Punjab Quran Board Launches Plan to Eliminate Any Errors in Quran Printing

IQNA – Determined to eradicate both conceptual and literal errors from Quranic copies, the Punjab Quran Board in Pakistan has greenlit an action plan.

Secretary/Chief Administrator Awqaf Punjab Dr Ehsan Bhutta said Wednesday that all available resources will be mobilized to eradicate any form of literal or conceptual distortion, as well as printing errors, in the Holy Quran.

Addressing the 59th high-level meeting of the Punjab Quran Board, Bhutta announced the immediate launch of specialized training courses designed to refine the professional capabilities of proofreaders, alongside the formulation of a comprehensive set of guiding principles.

The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Punjab Quran Board, Hafiz Zubair Hassan, and distinguished board members.

During his address, Bhutta issued strict directives to activate and tighten the monitoring system across the province to prevent any desecration of the Holy Quran and to ensure the preservation of its sacred copies. This will be achieved through close collaboration between the district administration and Awqaf officials. Furthermore, he emphasized keeping a vigilant eye on social media platforms to curb any malicious activities that could undermine interfaith and religious harmony. Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman of the Punjab Quran Board Hafiz Zubair Hassan reiterated that safeguarding the text of the Holy Quran and ensuring its flawless printing in accordance with its true spirit remains their foremost religious and legal obligation. He added that all board members are performing their duties with utmost diligence, dedication and sincerity.

To streamline and enhance the board’s operational efficiency, the Secretary Awqaf directed the formation of specialized committees comprising board members to oversee specific Quranic affairs. He also ordered that a documented performance proforma of all progress to date be presented in the upcoming meeting.
