Marquetry Quran Stand on Display at Hazrat Abbas Shrine’s Museum

IQNA – The Al-Kafeel Museum of Treasures and Manuscripts at the holy shrine of Hazrat Abbas (AS) in Karbala has exhibited an exquisite wooden Quran stand.

The Khatam-Kari (Marquetry) Quran stand weighs 1,155 grams and has been decorated with Islamic motifs, the Al-Kafeel website reported.

This work features floral and geometric Khatam-Kari designs carved alongside Islamic patterns, reflecting the precision and elegance of aesthetics of Islamic decorative arts.

This Quran stand demonstrates the craftsmen’s skill in incorporating decorative elements into wooden artifacts, combining the practical function of holding the Holy Quran during recitation with artistic value that gives it a distinctive aesthetic appeal.
