
The full Quran recitation was carried out as part of a royal initiative Launched by Jordan’s King Abdullah II.
Secretary-General of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Ismail Al Khatba said at the ceremony that the royal initiative, which is implemented by the ministry in mosques across the Kingdom throughout the year, aims to strengthen the religious and educational role of mosques and encourage the regular recitation and completion of the Quran through organized study circles.
Under the initiative, participants complete 12 full Quran recitations annually, at a rate of one complete recitation each month.
He explained that the program is based on reciting one-quarter of a hizb after each of the five daily prayers, enabling participants to complete the entire Quran every month under the supervision of qualified mosque imams, preachers, muezzins and instructors from Quranic learning centers.

Al Khatba stressed that the initiative helps revitalize the role of mosques as centers of worship and education, strengthens people's connection with the Holy Quran, and promotes the values of reflection and recitation among all segments of society.
