In a statement on Sunday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran said it “strongly condemns the airstrikes by the terrorist US army on several monitoring and surveillance facilities on the southern coast of the country in the early hours of Sunday, June 28, 2026.”

It added that “these brutal attacks, which are a clear violation of Article 2, Paragraph 4 of the United Nations Charter and a clear violation of Article 1 of the Memorandum of Understanding on ending the imposed war (signed on) June 18, 2026, show that the US regime does not place the slightest value and credibility on its commitments and that breaking promises is part of the nature of this regime.”

The statement said while recalling the responsibilities of the United Nations Security Council and its Secretary-General for international peace and security, the Islamic Republic of Iran emphasizes its determination to defend Iran’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity against US military aggression, in accordance with Article 51 of the United Nations Charter.
