A 1906 Masterpiece: Rare Kazan Quran on Display in Mecca Museum

IQNA – Visitors to the Hira Cultural District in Mecca are being treated to a scholarly masterpiece: a 1906 printed Quran adorned with intricate commentaries.

The Holy Quran Museum at the Hira Cultural District is showcasing a collection of rare Quranic artifacts. Among the highlights is one of the oldest printed copies of the Holy Quran, produced in the city of Kazan in 1906 CE (1324 AH).

The displayed Holy Quran is distinguished by its scholarly commentaries and marginal annotations, reflecting the efforts of generations of scholars to interpret Quranic verses and elucidate their meanings.

The museum, located in the Hira Cultural District of Mecca, includes rare artifacts, manuscripts, and Qurans that represent prominent milestones in the history of writing and printing the Holy Quran, and benefits from modern display technologies that provide informative and interactive content.
