Imam Khamenei Unparalleled in History: Hezbollah Chief
Sheikh Naim Qassem made the remark in a speech Wednesday on the occasion of the funeral of the martyred Imam.
“We bid farewell to the Imam of the oppressed, who was martyred along with a group of his family members. We offer our condolences to the Imam of the Age (may God hasten his glad advent), his family, and all those who sacrificed themselves for God Almighty in the Islamic Republic of Iran, from the leadership, the people, and the officials, to his family and all his loved ones. We congratulate the Islamic Ummah and the world on this great honor, which is a martyrdom that elevates the status, is a legacy for future generations, and illuminates the path of humanity.”
The Hezbollah chief added, “We have gathered on the occasion of the funeral of the Grand Ayatollah, the martyred Leader Imam Khamenei. The phrase ‘Rise for God’ is because this funeral is an uprising, a movement, and a revolution.”
He said Imam Khamenei is unique in his time, an exceptional contemporary leader who has no equal in history.
He was the guardian of the Ummah and the deputy of the absent and infallible Imam, Sheikh Qassem said, adding that he was a jurist who fulfilled all the requirements of guardianship and religious authority, a supreme religious authority, a person with strategic vision in various fields and a builder of the foundations of contemporary Islamic civilization.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Sheikh Qassem pointed to relations with Iran, saying, “We benefit from relations with Iran, but tell me why you have relations with America, while America despises you?”
Referring to developments on the ground, the Hezbollah chief said, “Since the ceasefire (between Hezbollah and the Israeli regime) was established, hundreds of violations have occurred, the latest of which was the killing of the principal of the Ghandour school.”

He said that if Israel had wanted to formulate this agreement alone, it would never have been able to complete it without the cooperation of the United States and the Lebanese government.
Rejecting talks between the Lebanese government and the Zionist regime, he emphasized that anything that is based on falsehood is false, because in our view, the essence of these negotiations lacked legitimacy, legal validity, the constitution, and national foundations.
