First Stage of Translating A Thousand Islamic Books Completed in Egypt
The books have been translated into more than 14 languages, El-Balad News reported.
The ceremony marking the completion of this stage was attended by President of Al-Azhar University Salama Juma Daoud, officials, deputies and a number of faculty members.
Khaled Abbas, Dean of the Faculty of Language and Translation, reviewed the details of this achievement at the ceremony and said the translation effort was carried out with great care by specialized experts to transfer these heritage treasures from Arabic to 14 languages, including English, French, German, Spanish, Chinese, and Italian.
He added that the goal is to make these books available to Islamic centers and foreign institutions around the world to counter extremist ideology and promote the authentic values of Islam.
Abbas emphasized that this represents a major leap and a comprehensive national project to transform Islamic values into practical realities.
Daoud also addressed the ceremony, stating that one of his most important goals since assuming office has been to ensure that each faculty has its own independent academic project.

“We are carrying out the project of translating a thousand Islamic books in line with a great scientific and civilizational heritage,” he said.
“The Faculty of Language and Translation is at the forefront of this effort because it is responsible for conveying the message of moderation, tolerance and correcting misconceptions internationally, with the approach that language is a bridge between humanity,” he added.
