
It was organized by the Religious Affairs Department of the Presidency of the Islamic Grand Mosque of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
A delegation of members and representatives of the Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani Quran Competition, affiliated with the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs of Qatar, participated in the opening of the event.
The opening ceremony was attended by a large number of officials and religious figures from inside and outside Bosnia and Herzegovina, and it was emphasized that the Qatari participation demonstrates the continued support of Qatar for the Quranic competitions in Bosnia and Herzegovina for the third consecutive year.
Speaking at the ceremony, Husein Kavazovic, Head of the Ulema of the Islamic Grand Mosque of Bosnia, emphasized that Qatar's support for these competitions reflects the depth of fraternal relations between the two countries and plays an important role in institutionalizing the concepts of the Quran and spreading Quranic culture among generations.
He added that the Holy Quran is not just a book to recite, but a way of life and a permanent source of guidance, knowledge and moral values.
Stating that the Book of God carries eternal messages of faith and profound wisdom and is considered a reference for the development of individuals and society, Kavazovic said memorizing the Quran and spreading its teachings is one of the highest missions of Quran activists.
He explained that the competition aims to consolidate the status of memorization and recitation of the Holy Quran in Bosnia and Herzegovina and encourage young people to compete in memorizing the Book of God, exchange experiences and prepare for participation in international Quran competitions, which will help create a Quranic generation capable of transmitting Islam.
Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz Al Thani also said the Government of Qatar has made serving the Holy Quran its most important mission and is committed to supporting initiatives that strengthen Islamic values and contribute to humanization based on the teachings of the Quran.

He emphasized that this competition has witnessed significant progress year after year, which indicates the consolidation of its lofty goals, an effort to strengthen the connection of the Muslim community with the Book of God, encouraging memorization, contemplation and practice of the Quran, and helping to prepare a distinguished Quranic generation that embodies the Quran in knowledge, action and morality.
