Iran Officially Begins Sending Pilgrims to Iraq for Arbaeen
In a statement on Saturday, the headquarters provided pilgrims with some advice for participating in this spiritual ceremony.
It urged pilgrims to approach the country’s exit borders with a valid international or pilgrimage passport with a validity of at least six months.
The executive and management programs of Moukebs (service stations on Arbaeen routes) are active from July 26, it said, urging pilgrims to cooperate fully with the servants and officials stationed on the route who are present to serve the pilgrims.
The statement also called on pilgrims to bring their personal and essential medicines (especially for people with specific illnesses) in sufficient quantities.
To prevent excessive fatigue, use appropriate shoes and a standard backpack and travel light, pilgrims were urged.

Arbaeen is a religious event observed by Shia Muslims on the fortieth day after the Day of Ashura, commemorating the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS), the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the third Shia imam.
It is one of the largest annual pilgrimages in the world, with millions of Shia Muslims, as well as many Sunnis and followers of other religions, walking to Karbala from various cities in Iraq and neighboring countries. This year, the day of Arbaeen will fall on August 4.
Last year, more than 4 million Iranians took part in the Arbaeen pilgrimage.
