Russian Archbishop Appreciates Leader of Islamic Revolution’s Message
He presented the message during a visit to the residence of Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia.
He appreciated the Russian Archbishop's action in sending separate messages on the occasion of the martyrdom of the former Leader of the Islamic Revolution and congratulating the election of the new Leader.
The Russian Archbishop expressed his gratitude for the “valuable message” of Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Khamenei and said that in light of the close relations between the two countries, there is a good opportunity to exchange views on bilateral relations.
Expressing his deep sorrow for the killing and suffering of people in different parts of the world, including in the confrontation of the Iranian people with their enemies, Patriarch Kirill said, “I pray for the establishment of peace and security in the region, especially for the health of the Iranian people who are standing firm and resisting.”
Referring to the dialogues between the Orthodox Church and Islamic schools of thought in Iran and the activities of the joint commission of the two countries, he emphasized the continuation of these dialogues and said that today, Russian Christians have good relations with the Islamic society of Iran.
The Russian Archbishop emphasized that the Orthodox Church and Iranian Muslims have close and common positions on various issues such as moral issues and the role of religion in everyday life and family relations and issues.
He further expressed regret that morality and the foundation of the family are weakening in some countries of the world and emphasized the importance of strengthening religious, academic and scientific cooperation between Iran and Russia.
Referring to the dispatch of a delegation from the Russian Orthodox Church to attend the farewell and funeral rites of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Patriarch Kirill said the members of this delegation presented a report on their trip, which indicates a warm welcome, not only from the authorities but also from ordinary Iranian citizens.
He added that this is a sign of the closeness between Iran and Russia, as well as the closeness of the followers of Islam and Christianity.

In his remarks at the meeting, the Iranian ambassador expressed his appreciation for the sympathy expressed by the Russian government and nation, as well as the Russian Orthodox Church, to the government and people of Iran following the criminal aggression of the United States and the Zionist regime and the martyrdom of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution and a group of commanders and ordinary citizens.
Jalali added that high-ranking delegations representing the president of Russia, as well as Muslims and Christians of this country, participated in the farewell and funeral rites of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, which is worthy of appreciation.
He expressed regret that the two recent military aggressions against Iran took place in the midst of negotiations, expressing regret that in today's world, moral and human standards are easily violated.
The enemies thought that by assassinating the Leader and a group of military commanders, they would take over the country, but it can be said that Iran revived after these events, and this reality was manifested in the magnificent farewell ceremonies and funeral of the martyred Leader of the revolution, Jalali stated.
He continued by emphasizing that the Islamic Republic of Iran today stands against aggression based on its moral, human and Islamic standards.
Jalali also said that the spread of spirituality in the world constitutes “the axis of solidarity”.
The Iranian ambassador to Russia further stated that the holding of 12 rounds of dialogues between Islam and Orthodox Christianity has yielded constructive results in the interactions between the religious institutions of the two countries, and announced Tehran's readiness to host the 13th round of these talks.
