IUMS Chief Highlights Quranic Life of Algerian Scholar Sheikh Mohamed Said Kaabash

IQNA – The president of the International Union of Muslim Scholars (IUMS) expressed his condolences to the Algerian people and the Islamic Ummah over the passing of the Quranic scholar Sheikh Mohamed Said Kaabash.

In a statement, Sheikh Ali al-Qaradaghi emphasized that the passing of Sheikh Kaabash is a loss for Algeria.

He described the scholar as a man who combined knowledge, propagation, education, reform, jihad, and service to his homeland.

He said the Holy Quran was central to his life, thought, and contributions, and its impact was evident in his writings, students, and the generations he taught and educated.

Recalling the beneficial scientific legacy he left behind and his lasting contributions, Sheikh Qaradaghi asked God Almighty to weigh his Quranic, scientific, and missionary activities, and everything he taught to future generations, in the balance of his virtues and grant him the best reward.

He also prayed that God would place the deceased in His vast mercy, honor his position, reward him for his knowledge, preaching, reform and jihad, and gather him with the righteous, prophets, the truthful and martyrs.

Sheikh Kaabash was known as a prominent figure in Quranic sciences and studies and one of the important scientific figures in Algeria.

He passed away on Friday, August 6, at the age of 97.

He dedicated his life to serving the Book of God, as well as education and social reform, and left behind a scientific and intellectual legacy that testifies to the journey of a man who made knowledge his mission and the Quran his guiding light and way of life.
