Quran Recitation Session Held at Hazrat Zeynab (SA) Mausoleum

A Quran recitation session was held earlier this week at the holy shrine of Hazrat Zeynab (SA) in Damascus, Syria.

The program was jointly organized by the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Hussein (AS) holy shrine and the Jafari Islamic Council of Syria.

150 seminarians from different nationalities took part in the Quranic program, the website of the Astan of Imam Hussein (AS) holy shrine reported.

It began with recitation of verses from the Holy Book by Sayyed Haydar Al-Qalibi and then Ammar Al-Khazaei, who heads the Dar-ol-Quran Center of the Astan of Imam Hussein (AS), presented a report about the center’s Quranic activities in Iraq and elsewhere.

Next, Quran expert Sayyed Mustafa Al-Qalibi delivered a brief speech about Quran recitation and the rules of Tajweed.

President of the Jafari Islamic Council of Syria Muhammad Ali Al-Mauski was next to take the podium. He appreciated the officials of the Astan of Imam Hussein (AS) for their cooperation in holding the Quranic program and their efforts to promote the teachings of the Holy Quran and Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS).

During their trip to Damascus, the delegation from the Astan of Imam Hussein (AS) also installed the flags of Imam Hussein (AS) and Hazrat Abbas (AS) on the dome of Hazrat Zeynab (SA) mausoleum on the occasion of Muharram.
