The Iranian Embassy in Tunisia has issued a strongly worded response to a widely circulated video showing American military personnel engaged in prayer, accusing Washington of exploiting faith to mask its policies abroad.
In a post released on X, the embassy posted a scathing critique headlined: "Religious Hypocrisy, the American Way."
The mission questioned the moral foundation of the United States' global actions, posing a rhetorical question about the compatibility of Christian teachings with current US foreign policy. "If Jesus Christ were here today, would He have endorsed America’s actions? Certainly not," the statement read.
The Iranian diplomatic mission further said that the United States actively seeks a "religious cover" to justify its military interventions, which is "acts of terrorism."
The statement concluded with a pointed moral inquiry, asking: "What kind of belief in God could ever justify the killing of innocent human beings—men, women, and children?"
