Moving under Banner of Velayat, Basis of Iran’s Power
Delivering his sermon at the University of Tehran campus on Friday, November 15, Hojat-ol-Islam Kazem Sediqi referred to the negotiations between Iran and the West and said the Islamic Republic has entered the talks from a powerful position.
He underlined that Iran has no need or dependence on the West and will move forward even if the talks fail.
Hojat-ol-Islam Sediqi further referred to the mourning ceremonies held to mark the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS) and his companions in the battle of Karbala, thanking the Iranian nation for their massive participation in these ceremonies.
He further elaborated on Imam Hussein’s (AS) character and the Imam’s (AS) uprising, saying that the movement of Ashura was so vast in scope that one can hardly enumerate its objectives, values and causes.
The senior cleric referred to the revival of Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice as one of the objectives of Imam Hussein’s (AS) movements and said the Imam (AS) rose up to reform the Islamic Ummah and fight against injustice and oppression.
He said the movement that Imam Khomeini (RA), following the example of Imam Hussein (AS), initiated and led to victory carried the message that if a government weakens the religion and undermines the virtues, it is upon the Muslim Ummah to stand up against it.
Hojat-ol-Islam Sediqi also pointed to the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Sajjad (AS) and said the movement of Karbala remained alive in history through the endeavors of Imam Sajjad (AS) and Hazrat Zaynab (SA).
