Kuwait Nat’l Quran Contest to Kick off Today

The 18th edition of the national Quran contest in Kuwait will kick off in a ceremony on Sunday.

1200 Quran memorizers will be competing in the national event, which is organized by Kuwait’s Department of Youth, KUNA reported.

Khalifa Al-Tararu, an official with the organizing committee said the Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Ministry will cooperate in holding the competition.

He said winners of the contest will receive precious prizes including Umrah Hajj pilgrimage packages as well as certificates of honor.

 Al-Tararu went on to say that special attention to the competition has led to the rising number of participants in this year’s event.
