Army’s 33rd Quran Competition Wraps up

The 33rd edition of the Army’s Quran competition concluded in a ceremony on Thursday, December 20.

The Army’s Ideo-political Organization hosted the closing ceremony, which was attended by the Army Commander Major General Ataollah Salehi.

It began with recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by winners of the recitation category, Hojat-ol-Islam Ali Akbar Fahimi-Hassani.

Next, Hojat-ol-Islam Vahedi, cultural deputy of the Army presented a report on the organization of this year’s Quran competition.

He said 9000 individuals took part in different stages of the Army’s 33rd Quran competition in various categories.

Vahedi added that winners of the top titles will take part in several international Quranic competitions including those in Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.

Major General Salehi also addressed the closing ceremony, stressing the need to read the Holy Quran and act upon its teachings.

At the end of the ceremony, winners of the first three ranks in each category received their prizes.
