The Islamic Centre of England in conjunction with Ridhayatullah Theatre is going to dedicate the forthcoming evenings of interfaith theatre featuring 'John and Fizza, the African Sacrifice to Karbala'

Imam Hussain [AS] has become a symbol of peace, justice, sacrifice and good virtue with a global recognition of 1.5 Billion people having heard of this saint who sacrificed his life for humanity.

Amongst the companions of Imam Hussain were John, an Abyssinian freed slave who served Imam Hussain [AS] and gave his life in upholding the truth and rejecting evil.  Equally, Fizza was an Abyssinian princess who left her lands to join the struggle of Imam Hussain [AS] for similar reasons.

The selfless sacrifice made by black Abyssinian personalities such as John and Fizza at the epic of Karbala have great lessons for us to learn amidst a world full of racial discrimination and injustice.  We hope to get together in unison to celebrate our similarities as citizens of one earth and human beings of one species.

The theatrical performance will be conducted by Ridhayatullah theatre, specializing in interfaith theatre at Islamic Centre of England on Sunday 5th January 6pm.
