Final Stage of National Quran Contest To Be Held in Qatar

The final stage of the 8th edition of Qatar national Quran memorization, recitation and interpretation contest titled “Sheikh Ghanim bin Ali Al Thani” will be held today, January 1, 2014.




According to Al-Raya newspaper, 105 male and female students of Quranic centers in various parts of the country and the Dar-ol-Qurans affiliated to the Office of Dissemination and Religious Guidance of the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs in Qatar will participate at this stage of the contest.



This edition of the national Quranic event began on December 21 with 1797 participants and Quran memorizers of the country.



The contest has been organized in three sections, the first one including memorization of the entire Quran with Tajweed and interpretation of the 30th Juz (part) of the Quran, memorization of 25 Juzes with Tajweed and interpretation of Surah A’laa to Naas and memorization of 20 Juzes with Tajweed and interpretation of Surah Zuhaa to Naas.



Memorization of the 25 Juzes of the Holy Quran with Tajweed and memorization of 10, 5 and 3 Juzes with Tajweed as well as memorization of the 30th Juz of the Holy Quran (for mothers) are the categories of the second section of the contest.



The third section includes recitation of the entire Quran with Tajweed principles for those above 15 years old, recitation of 15 Juzes of the Holy Quran with Tajweed and recitation of the 30th Juz for participants less than 8 years of age.



Ilyas Muhammad Mu’in-uddin from Sa’d bin ‘Ibadah Quranic Center, Amin-ul-Haq Imdad-ul-Haq Fadhl-ul-Haq from Nafi’ Al-Madani Center, Habib-ul-Rahman Khalil-yl-Rahman from ‘Asem bin Abi Al-Nujud Center, Abdullah Yusuf Mas’ud Qutb and Muhammad Ya’qub Hafiz Muhammad Yusuf will be among the participants who compete today in the final stage.
