According to Al-Riyadh newspaper, the center announced that the competition will be held under the supervision of Faisal bin Salman Abdul Aziz, governor of Medina.
Imad bin Zuhair Hafiz, head of the Official Council of the center, said that the date was extended so that more researchers of the country including university lecturers and students will have the opportunity to participate at the contest.
150000 Saudi Rials will be awarded to the winners of the contest, he added.
Hikmat bin Bashir Yasin, secretary of the contest, also stated that getting the lecturers and students more involved with the holy Quran and Nabawi Sunnah, clarifying the relation between Quranic sciences and comparative sciences, defending the Holy Quran and Sunnah and answering the doubts about Quran and Sunnah are among the objectives of the competition.
It will include two categories titled “application of researches in Quranic issues and Nabawi Sunnah to develop pharmacy” and “application of such researches in development of oceanography”.
The scholars will investigate the Holy Quran’s verses and Hadiths of the holy prophet (PBUH) about the two fields of science and the theories which are not based on scientific principles will be identified.
