The centre will be electronically connected with other universities in the Islamic world. An amount of Rs100 million has been allocated to establish the centre, which will help promote true Islamic knowledge and spread the divine message of Quran and Sunnah, said AIOU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Nazir Ahmed Sangi while addressing a seminar on the ‘Role of Arabic Language in Promotion of Islamic Studies and Islamic Culture.’
Dr. Sangi said that university will set up e-learning laboratories at its regional campuses to teach Arabic Language to around 2,000 teachers and 50,000 students.
The e-learning software is also being developed to incorporate the contents of Arabic Language. The Arabic Language Teaching Project will be undertaken in cooperation with national and international institutions.
Dr. Sangi said the contents relating to human rights, guaranteed by Quran and Sunnah, have already been included in the university’s curriculum at the intermediate level.
The university, he added, is also engaged in creating world largest Information Communication Technology Centre data for promoting e-learning. An amount of Rs123 million has been allocated for this purpose.
He underlined the need for adopting integrated and well-coordinated strategy in the field of education for combating social evils like terrorism and sectarian conflicts.
