The ministry announced the end of registration for the 25th edition of the contest after completing the process of entering the information of 1,863 male and female participants, Al-Rai website reported.

This came after the registration of 1,863 male and female participants, in order to prepare for the preliminary round, which is scheduled to begin today, Sunday, under the supervision of specialized subcommittees.

Based on the final electronic registration data, the ministry reported a high level of participation in the competition, announcing that 622 male and 1,241 female participants had registered for the event.

In the first category, memorization of the entire Quran, 261 male and female participants, in the second category, memorization of 20 Juzes (parts), 185 male and female participants, and in the third category, memorization of 10 Juzes, 1,417 male and female participants have registered, with the third category having the highest level of participation.

According to the approved schedule, the preliminary stages will begin at the headquarters of the subcommittees overseeing the competition.

The ministry said the 25th edition has been organized with the generous donations of Omani benefactors and with the support and sponsorship of the Madad al-Khair emergency relief campaign.

The ministry emphasized that this widespread participation reflects the deep presence of the Quran in Palestinian society and the desire of the people of the Gaza Strip to become acquainted with the Book of God through memorization and reflection on the verses, despite the difficult and exceptional conditions in the region.

The ministry thanked all male and female participants, their families and Quran instructors, and wished all participants success in the preliminary stages and subsequent rounds of the competition.
