It is being organized in collaboration with International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) & the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).The theme of the conference is “Equity, Venture Capital, Corporate Governance and Institutional Development for Equity Investments: Prospects and Practices from Islamic Perspective.”
The Deputy Governor of State Bank of Pakistan Mr. Saeed Ahmad will be the chief guest while Prof. Datuk Syed Othman Al Habshi from Malaysia and Prof. Khurshid Ahmad, Chairman, Institute of Policy Studies Islamabad will be the Keynote speakers at the inaugural session.
Pre-conference specialized workshops will be held on “Investment Management by Islamic Banks and Non Banking Financial Institutions” on 9th February 2014.
World renowned Islamic Scholars and economists from across the globe will participate in the conference as paper presenters and key note speakers. This will be attended by research scholars, economics, policy makers, academic intellectuals, judiciary and legal practitioners, CEO’s and CFO’s from the corporate sectors, officials of the Securities and Exchanges Commission, banks regulators and auditors, Shariah scholars in Islamic banking and PhD and M.Phil scholars from various Universities.
The first and second International Conferences on Islamic Banking and finance were organized by the Riphah International University in Islamabad in February 2011 and February 2012 respectively.
The participants of these conferences strongly recommended promoting business and finance based on Islamic teachings and Shariah.
